Hey it's all about virus!!?

My PC has caught a kind of spyware or virus named w32.myzor.fk@yf which facilates in stealing passwords and destroying system. I am very much worried about it. Can you please please please help me to remove this spyware virus. I searched a lot of websites for downloading free softwares for removing spyware but it could only be freely scanned. Do you know any sites where I can download a free software which functions both in scanning and removing Spyware. HELP PLEASE??

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

Sounds like it's ''hiding''.

To hide the taskbar:

I have a gateway laptop that is probably around 5 or 6 years old. I use an x-drive to put all my music, videos and other large documents on, but the computer is still extremely slow. It sounds like a trojan or major virus of some kind, shut off or restart the computer, unplug from internet after making sure the latest updates are install for virus, etc. Then do a scan offline and see if it it finds the trojan.

Firstly, I doubt it is a hacker, unless your brother has some interesting information on his computer, more likely it is a newer virus, I would get an upgraded virus registry for my virus detection software, via, your other computer and jump drive it over.

After you have the file on the jump drive, you find your old file and replace it manually. After that run a virus scan, I hope this helps you fix your problem.

It makes no difference if you are on dial-up or broadband as to your security software. You don't have to download the program, you can purchase them from a store like best buy or amazon.. which is better anyways because then you have the actual disk incase you need to reinstall or incase you want to run the command line scanner.

If you are going to go with freeware you will not be protected.. that's the bottom line.

Freeware doesn't provide real-time protection nor do they provide timely updates (if at all) .. both of which are vital. By the time you run a manual scan you are infected... so you may as well not even bother installing the freeware.

McAfee takes no more time to load than anything else if it is properly configured. You do not have to install ALL of the add-on features. You can even turn off the splash screen.

If your computer is so incredibly slow that it's taking a long time to load then you should look at the CPU speed and amount of RAM you have and see if you can upgrade.

Did you disconnect from the internet and reboot in safe mode when you ran your anti-spyware? If not, do it. Some trojans hide out in areas of the system that are protected when the computer is in normal mode.

Once all of your scans are done and you've gotten rid of the infections found, reboot in normal mode and connect to the internet. Then see if you get the same message when you run IE.

This will unlock the file/folder and allow you to delete it. Just install this program, then right click the folder and use Unlocker to release the file from whatever is keeping it from being deleted normally, then follow the prompts and you should be able to remove it. But honestly the malware is probably disabled this is just the residual leftover folder with a few hanging dlls. I would also suggest you go to www.download.com and get Spyware Doctor Starter Edition which is completely free and the best malware remover you can buy or free. In My MS Office 2003 and XP I am not getting all the fonts installed in Widnows Font Directory. I am getting only three fonts:

You are getting viruses because of this websites you're visiting! ALSO! Your virus program is ONLY as good as the most recent updates. Seeing as there's over 500 new viruses created everyday, and you MAYBE only update once a week, it is inevitable that you will get a virus.... Especially since you go on the internet every day of your life.

Norton handles the viruses that DO come in the best. Quarantines them and then REMOVES PERMISSIONS to those quarantines so nothing can be executed. Some other virus programs (like AVG...) quarantine the file by moving it to an isolated folder on the hard drive... that's it.

Norton also has the option for Virus scan on boot up which allows you to scan and remove the viruses that CAN'T be removed while windows is actually running... Why? When windows is running... the virus files are in use and NO Anti-Virus program will be able to get rid of them.

Hi. Looks like a good machine. When you say crash that usually means BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death). Is that the case? If you are using a valid copy of Windows XP then crashes should be rare. If you have a hardware conflict (rare) that might do it. Check the Task Manager and see if you have any suspicious processes running.

i think i have the same laptop, maybe its the account ur using. when i used another account that i newly made, my laptop stopped crashing. it could be that ur only scanning one account instead of every account in ur laptop. if ur laptop is still under warranty, now would be the time to use that.

Virus has disabled System Restore?

A virus has disabled System Restore I think. I can't open up the Help Menu from the Start button to get to the System Restore Wizard. I've tried using Safe Mode but I'm not too familiar with it. I couldn't seem to do it from there either.

I've already run all the free anti-virus %26 anti-spyware stuff to no avail. It's also shut down my Task Manager, Windows Media Player, and I think it may be what's caused my internet to go down as well. So I'm really in a bind. I can't download anything from the internet.

Is there another way to get to System Restore or do you have any other suggestions? I'm going to end up reformatting but I need a solution in the meantime.

I've got some sort of virus that has stopped my windows media player from working and I can't get to my Task Manager. It have been messing up my explorer connection when I tried to log into Yahoo mail.

So I got a bunch of free anti virus/anti spyware programs and ran them. None of those did anything. Now, all of the sudden I can't get to the internet via my computer (although I can still use Xbox live so I know the juices are flowing through the cable so to speak). It says I have ''Limited or no connectivity'' or something like that. Right now I'm using my computer at work.

Could this be the virus or could it be a firewall blocking the internet connection entirely or what? Any advice?

I am not sure if it would help, but it sounds reasonable to me. It has fixed a lot of problems for me, but this takes a bit of time to do, and I don't know how long your computer runs without shutting down.

Sorry, but the stuff you are using and free stuff can't do a simple removal job...

This is not a problem at all. Here's what you need to do.

1st, don't waste your time with AVG, true sword, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, superantispyware, avast, panda, kaspersky, spyware blaster, bitdefender, spyware guard, windows defender or anything of the sort. Now that you have done that... rescan with AVG etc. and clean up any crap on there.

Restart your computer and go back and uncheck the box that turned off system restore.

The reason to do it that way is because your system will automatically restore certain items you are deleting with your anti-virus/spyware removers. If system restore is off during the scan and removal it can't =)

my grand-daughter has always had bullgard full security pack on her computer. About 6 weeks ago a box as a icon appeared on her desktop with the words xset up,exe.We did a full scan and 2 threats appeared on the scan which bullgard could not deal with so we sent a log to them to sort out. After many attempts later we were no better off as these threats kept showing up on the full scan. Last night I uninstalled bullgard and installed avg free antivirus and with her own windows firewall windows defender and norton spyware scan which comes free with btyahoo we did another scan with avg which picked up the above mentioned + a copy avg got rid of the first one and on a second scan we believe we got rid of the second one but the box is still on the desktop. By now the trojan will be in System Restore, so you have to switch that off. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore then follow the wizard to switch it off.

You should then run Avast and Ewido in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode reboot and repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

Let the programs run, then reboot and run your Ewido scan again to check if it worked.

Sluggish Startup.?

I've noticed my laptop is running a little sluggish at moments, and when I startup it could take almost 10 minutes for it to finally be ready for me to use. I have Norton Anti-Virus, AVG Anti-Spyware and a memory free up program. My computer has no bugs or viruses(at least from what Norton can see), and I just cleaned up my hard drive and defragmented it. Are there any programs out there that could give my computer the jolt it needs? I have the resources to take it to a shop but I'd like to try my hand at it first, if possible.

*FYI* My desktop's hard drive broke so I'm now using my laptop for my primary computer needs, which is why I'm even stressing this in the first place.

If you've just recently downloaded a new program in to your computer that maybe the problem. Sometimes new programs are incompatible with other software that is already on your computer. as far as spyware detection programs go, the more the merrier, only have one of the programs running full time as too many running will take up too much system resources.

fire up the other antispyware programs one a month, do your scans with them and put them back to bed when finnished.
It seems that you have 2 anti-VIrus and 2 anti-Spyware programs.

Remove one of the Anti-Virus, Norton's is better than AVG but it is your call. Having 2 anti-virus programs running at the same time will cause them to interfere with each other.

Having 2 anti-spyware at the same time is alright I'd just make one active and have the other scan only on manual. Of the 2 you mention Spybot is the better.
