My Computer is running sooooooooo slow?

I cannot even defrag because it will not finish.Someone told me to shut down and then hold F8 and start in safe mode,then defrag,but that does not work either.I searched the web and found a place called ask nerd and they said I needed a registry cleaner.Does anyone know where a totally free download is...I am using Windows ME

I have done all the things you guys suggested but it;s not working.

My defrag doesnt finish

My scan disk doesn't finish

My system restore isn't working.

I deleted all the spyware.

I have a free anti virus downloaded.

My email is even going nutts and resend lots of email

U not mention about how much RAM u have..I think u must have at least 128 MB of RAM for normal or 256 or 512 Mb Ram for fastest working.

and if Ur system memory is OK then maybe this will help u.

please note the following.

click on START and then RUN. and then type

regedit

then when reg window opens see in the left side of window and find

CURRENT_USER

then CONTROL PANEL -%26gt; DESKTOP

now on the right side find

MenuShowDelay and double click on it
